Brit's Guide To Orlando Book

The Brit's Guide to Orlando is a down to earth guide book written by Simon and Susan Veness, experienced travellers to Orlando.

The book is re-written every year so make sure you buy the 2012 edition [Check availability] and the 2013 edition [check availability] if you've booked your holiday for next year.

Why Get The Book?

A typical holiday will usually last either 7 or 14 days. Jamming everything you want to do into 7 days is tricky. For example, the book suggests a minimum of 5 days to get around Walt Disney World alone. On a 7 day trip, that doesn't leave time to see anything else so here it is vital to plan ahead.

The authors have actually visited Orlando and have visited the attractions they write about. If they reckon something is worth visiting, it invariably is.

The book is packed with sample itineraries, money saving hints and tips as well as sound advice on local cultures.

Our Review

This book is packed full of handy hints and tips. A lot of it deals with hotels and buying holiday homes over in Orlando which will be useful to some. As we had already booked the holiday by the time we bought this, we mainly used it for information about the theme parks, shopping and restaurants.

This guide book isn't essential. If you have plenty of free time and access to the Internet, you can do your own research. However, if time isn't on your side or you'd like to know more about the region before travelling, this book is a must.

We read the book, got park opening times and restaurant locations from various websites and then went. Had we not have had the book, we wouldn't have known which side to sit on for the Jaws ride or about polystyrene coolers (which we actually found!).
